Distance Learning and Device Distribution

Good afternoon, Waxahachie ISD families—

We are excited to begin distance learning tomorrow! If your child does not have a device to use for distance learning, we will begin device distribution this afternoon at Waxahachie High School (CTE entrance on the west side of the building). No appointment or pre-approval is needed, and you may attend any one of the pickup times. As a reminder, the dates and times the devices will be available for pick-up are:

We will limit the number of people picking up at once in order to remain within the governor’s guidelines of no more than 9 people in an area. A parent or guardian must be there to fill out the form and pick up the device. We will not check out devices to students who come alone.

At this time, the district does not have internet hot spot devices available for students. Many internet companies, such as Spectrum and AT&T, are offering free or reduced-cost internet access during this time. In addition, your wireless phone company may be offering unlimited data services for customers to use their phones as hot spots to connect computers and other devices. Please contact these companies for more information about obtaining internet access.

If you have questions about device distribution, please email. We look forward to seeing you at one of our scheduled pickup times!
